Livestream

  • Atem Mini Pro
  • Dell Monitor
  • 2x Canon Legria HF G25
  • 2x Paired HDMI Ethernet Extenders

Currently, The computer sends 2x HDMI signals to the Atem Mini Pro.

Input 1 is a copy of the projector display (there’s a splitter on the desk by the computer monitor).
Input 2 is the tight camera – HDMI via the HDMI extender.
Input 3 is the wide camera, HDMI via the HDMI extender.
Input 4 is the green screen – a direct output from the computer.

Ethernet is connected via the switch below the desk.

The Picture in Picture display is currently set to display the input 1 display, in the top right corner. Restarting the Atem will reset the PiP to default (top right, larger).

Switch on the Atem, and powered extenders via the switch on the multiplug on the back left corner of the livestream partition. You should be able to switch on the monitor, and see a display with the 2 computer screens and some other information.

Switch on the 2x camera’s. Facing the stage, the power switch is on the top of the camera, left hand side, (closer to the foyer doors) and needs to be slide forwards to have power. Make sure the lens caps/flaps are lifted, by pushing down on the switch on the very front right, on the plastic cone.

Using the very large buttons on the Atem, select 1-4 to change the input list to select which view is shown to the stream. In the top right corner, there is a button labeled “On Air”. Pressing this button starts transmitting data to Youtube. By default, Picture in Picture is on, and is the red button on the left cluster of buttons on the top right hand side of the Atem. It’s Labelled “On”. Press “Off” right below it to disable the PiP.

studio.youtube.com can be used (with credentials) to schedule and start the livestreams.

Check the Ethernet cable is tightly plugged in (it wiggles loose) and ensure that there is an internet connection in the hall

You’ll need to restart the HDMI Extender Transmitter – on the pole by where the camera is: Pull out the gray ethernet cable, and the black HDMI cable. Wait a second or two, then plug the gray ethernet cable back in. Count to 5, then plug the HDMI in. You should now have a feed on the atem monitor.
